Ferveo Technology, Inc. has created a patent-pending technology called ShelfMeter to provide real-time, item-level information in retail stores. This technology is seamless to use and install and does not require any changes to the actual items themselves; no tags (as is the case in RFID) are required on the items. By using this solution, retailers and manufacturers will be able to reduce store out-of-stocks, reduce losses due to theft and improve task management overall in the store.
Ferveo's ShelfMeter uses a patent-pending electromagnetic sensing technology. Sensor mats, sized and shaped according to the shelf dimensions, are placed on the shelf and the items then placed on the mats as defined by the planogram. The sensors can be placed in a variety of settings and have been built to withstand the rigors of the retail environment.
