ShelfMeter Technology

Ferveo's ShelfMeter uses a patent-pending electromagnetic sensing technology. Sensor mats, sized and shaped according to the shelf dimensions, are placed on the shelf and the items then placed on the mats as defined by the planogram. The sensors can be placed in a variety of settings and have been built to withstand the rigors of the retail environment.

Ferveo Technology's third generation ShelfMeter product handles critical inventory-monitoring issues through a new ground-breaking approach. ShelfMeter performs item-level inventory management, without making any changes to the items or requiring any tags on the items. ShelfMeter uses the physical properties of an item, i.e. its shape, size, weight and density, to assign a unique item signature.

Sales velocities are an additional component of the item signature. By using this characteristic signature, ShelfMeter monitors inventory levels for each item and stores data on each 'facing' of a store shelf. The ShelfMeter software generates alerts and also integrates shelf inventory data into other systems to execute new orders and change existing orders.
